Better together: comprehensive social work education in England

Prospective social workers in England are increasingly being segregated into different qualification routes. While the justification for this segregation relates to either academic achievement or vocational nature of course, students also end up based on prior advantage, personal circumstances, context and experience. This article examines three main routes contemporary work England: fast-track training programmes, apprenticeships mainstream programmes. It is shown that each these approaches arguably have advantages disadvantages, but ultimately it itself doing most damage profession. An alternative approach suggested, comprehensive justice values, where focus bringing together, rather than splitting them apart.
